Community Work Update

Recently the Garw Valley Community Council has carried out the following works in the valley:

• the installation of 10 hanging floral baskets in each of the 4 wards – Bettws, Blaengarw, Llangeinor and Pontycymer
• the installation of two rail planters in Pontyrhyl and a sign planter in Blaengarw.
• the removal of a huge area of brambles behind the font at Bettws
• the installation of a bench and two planters on Bridgend Road in Pontycymer
• a children’s book library in Parc Calon Lan, working in partnership with a local resident
• refurbished the bridge treads at Pontycymer Lake and powerwashed the sides of the bridge

and shortly we will install a bin off Federation Lane, Pontycymer and another in the Pocket Park, Pontycyme and we also have a defibrillator to install in Pantygog.
