Congratulations to the Community Award Winners for 2024

Following requests for nominees for our two awards from the public, the winners in each category were invited to attend the June 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting for a presentation. Both were presented with an engraved shield to keep for a year, an engraved trophy to keep and a gift card, their accompanying guests were presented with flowers.

The winner of the Community Award for 2024 for their contribution to the Garw Valley Responders, Blaengarw Workmen’s Hall and their charity work was Don Sage.

The winner of the Community Sports Award for 2024 for their dedication and success in cycling on the international sporting scene was Dylan Sage.

They were presented with their shields, trophies and gifts by the Chair of the Garw Valley Community Council, Councillor Maxine Lewis, see photos below:
